SUBSTANCE: invention relates to switching devices for prevention of electric shock in case of damage of insulation of current-carrying parts of electrical installations. Invention discloses a device and method for protection against electric shock in case of damage of insulation of current-carrying parts of electrical installations (electrical equipment, electrical receivers) in rooms of civil purposes and for operation in mobile plants, characterized by frequent connections to AC network and subsequent outages, by detecting the emergency mode of the installation and controlling the contacts of the phase changer and the emergency disconnector.
EFFECT: ensuring safe operation of electrical installations due to automatic determination of the position of the phase conductor without a third point (often grounding) and automatic switching to the standard position (L—on the left, N—on the right) in case of incorrect connection.
