FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment and can be used in combined hernioplasty and other cases where fixation of large mesh endoprostheses is required. Atraumatic medical needle contains curved rod with sharpened and blunt ends and thread. Both ends of thread are fixed inside rod and form a loop. Thread ends before entrance to blunt end are connected to each other into one thread and form in the point of connection the second loop. When surgical suture is applied by means of claimed needle, number of separate interrupted sutures with any number of needles required for operation is reduced to one, finishing the operation.
EFFECT: reduction of labour consumption, time for operation performance and amount of suture material left in wound.
