FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used to manufacture a non-woven cloth (3) of the specified width (4) from metal fibres (2) by means of their welding to each other. The device (1) comprises several pairs (5) of welding electrodes distributed along the width (4) of the manufactured non-woven cloth with the possibility of pulling metal fibres (2) between them. At least one hoisting mechanism (6) drives at least one welding electrode (7) of the pair (5) of welding electrodes into relative motion. At least one system (9) of welding control provides for welding current supply in case there is contact between the pair (5) of welding electrodes and metal fibres (2). The system (10) to control feed of non-woven cloth (3) depending on the position of the hoisting mechanism (6) provides for displacement of the manufactured non-woven cloth (3). A loose mass (19) from detached metal fibres (2) is supplied to a device (1), and metal fibres in their loose mass (19) are welded together individually on its several separate sections (20) during the time, when the loose mass (19) of metal fibres remains fixed.
EFFECT: invention provides for high-speed welding with production of metal fibre materials of high quality.
