METHOD AND DEVICE FOR BUTT JOINTING OF EDGES OF SHEET MADE OF ELASTIC MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC B29C65/00 B29D30/00 

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for butt jointing of edges of a sheet from elastic material. At first two edge parts of at least one sheet are supported so that its two edges, which are to be butt-jointed, are located oppositely to each other. Further surfaces of these two edge parts are pulled in direction of the centre between two edges by means of contact of a pair of conical surfaces that rotate in opposite directions with according edge parts, moving conical surfaces at the same time along two edges. Therefore two edges directed oppositely to each other contact with each other to form a butt joint. Besides, a small space is formed between conical surfaces. After passing of the conical surfaces the elastic material accumulated in this small space forms a small ledge in the form of a collar along the butt joint. Then this small ledge in the form of a collar is pressed to level the butt joint. A plant is also suggested for method implementation.

EFFECT: inventions provide for increased strength of sheet edges butt joint.
