FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sand trap to be used in hydraulic engineering. Sand trap comprises container wherein waste water flows at the speed of 0.1-0.3 m/s depending upon sizes and density of precipitable particles. Said container has reinforced concrete housing buries in soil that features a cuboid shape with horizontal base reinforced by metal perforated sheet, two vertical walls and two face walls. Cover with opening and hatch to remove bottoms, said cover being jointed with detachable sand trap coverage slab with holes for storm run-off. Vibrating chute is mounted on said base via damping mat to facilitate removal of bottoms in rinsing sand trap. Vertical wall is furnished with pipeline to feed run-off and opposite vertical wall has pipeline to discharge effluents provided with discharge pocket.
