FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: armour-piercing bullet includes envelope, hard-alloy slug and lead jacket. Slug has head and tail parts. Head part of hard-alloy slug is pointed. Length of slug is equal to (2.21-3.48)d; at that, hard alloy of slug includes tungsten carbide - 85-96% and has HRA hardness not less than 85.0 units, as well as ultimate bending strength of not less than 2000 MPa. Head part of slug is cone-shaped, the length of which is (0.58-3.70)d. Tail part has the shape of cylinder or flattened cone, or cylinder and flattened cone connected to each other. Smaller diameter of flattened cone is (0.71-0.86)d; larger diameter of flattened cone of tail part is equal to diameter of cylinder and diameter of head part of slug and is equal to (0.72-0.86)d. Length of cylinder of the tail part is equal to (0.01-3.58)d, where d - bullet calibre diameter. Slug surface has roughness of not more than Ra 1.6, and weight of slug is equal to 34-62% of bullet weight.

EFFECT: increasing piercing power of armour-piercing bullet.
