SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary classification, followed by checking the selected possible classes for conformity with several known criteria corresponding to each class. To be more precise, the permissible ratio of characteristics for two regions is checked. According to the second version of the method, classification is performed based on a digital image of the banknote and the measure of conformity of the banknote to the image is calculated for each possible class. By ranking according to the given measure, the banknote is associated with closest class according to conformity.
EFFECT: shorter processing time with increase in verification reliability.
