SUBSTANCE: method involves: obtaining the ring back tone (RBT) playing policy of the called user, wherein the RBT playing policy includes an identifier (ID) of the type of information which determines whether the RBT playing policy is based on the called user information; obtaining current status information of a called user if the RBT playing policy is based on the called user information; determining the ID RBT corresponding to current status information of the called user, according to the corresponding interrelationship between the status information of the called user and the ID RBT; and playing the RBT identified by the ID RBT to the calling user according to ID RBT.
