FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely traumatology and orthopaedics. Joint arthrotomy is carried out by an anterior approach from the lower one-third of thigh to a tuberosity of tibia. A tibial component of an endoprosthesis, cicatrical and granulation tissues are removed. Cartilage residues are removed, while a kneecap is mobilised. After mobilisation, the kneecap is removed to a cavity of a proximal portion of tibia formed after removal of the tibial component of the endoprosthesis. A vertical channel is formed in condyles of femur and tibia. A metal plate is introduced through the channel. The plate is screwed onto the diaphysial portions of femoral and tibial bones.
EFFECT: method provides relieving a pyoinflammatory process, eliminating recurrent inflammation by removing the formed cavity, forming ankylosis and providing strong postoperative knee joint fixation.
