FIELD: fire fighting facilities.
SUBSTANCE: method to create thermal shield to improve efficiency of protection against associated gas fire produced during testing of offshore oil wells, includes creation of thermal shield, which provides flow of water curtain between the heat source and the securable facility. At that the curtain is created by pneumo-acoustic spray of sea water in the form of fog with the air pressure of 0.35-0.6 MPa, pressure of water of 0.02-0.04 MPa, with a volume flow of sea water 3-5 liters per minute per square metre of the surface to be protected, and a frequency of acoustic waves 18-24 kHz while the sound pressure is 160-180 dB.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of protection from flame of associated gas.
