FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foamed glass. The granular mixture for making foamed glass contains the following components in wt %: liquid glass 5-15; water - 5-15; foaming agent which contains glycerine 1-2; kaolin or kaolinite 1-3; ground glass (sown) - the rest, wherein the carbonate foaming agent used is CaCO3 or MgCO3 or BaCO3 or SrCO3 in amount of up to 1 wt % in a mixture with glycerine. When preparing the mixture, proportions of components are experimentally determined at maximum and minimum allowable density of the ground glass taking into account density of liquid glass, as well as average density of the mixture after mixing and adding minimum amount of water needed to obtain moist granules. Further, the size of the granules and quality of the mixture is controlled, while increasing the amount of water fed within given limits and controlling density of the mixture during its preparation.
EFFECT: efficient recycling of different glass wastes and possibility of producing foamed glass from unconventional glass of varying composition while maintaining high quality of the obtained product.
