FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: cylindrical hollow metal specimens from the material equivalent to the material of the structure the stressed state of which shall be determined. Specimen is loaded with certain pitch and inner pressure of liquid or gas medium contained inside the cylinder for creation of plane stress state caused by tensile stresses in axial and annular directions, or the specimen is bent for creation of axial tension-compression stresses. Stresses in the specimen are determined for each loading pitch or by means of another method, for example electric stress measurements. Coercive force is measured at each loading step; at that, magnetic flow of the coercive force metre sensor is oriented coaxially with the direction of determined stresses. Relationship between coercive force and stresses in the specimen are built. Coercive force of the structure's metal is measured by orienting the sensor along the direction of action of evaluated stresses and stresses are determined by means of the obtained relationship.
EFFECT: improving accuracy of determining mechanical stresses.
