SUBSTANCE: request for connection and reserving quality of service (QoS) resources can be combined in an access message on an access terminal. The access message with the combined communication signals can then be transmitted to an access network. An application layer message (e.g. data over signalling (DOS)) can also be combined with the connection and reservation request in the access message.
EFFECT: improved scheduling affected by cross talk between uplink transmissions from different user devices.
