FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology, and aims at surgical management of aphakia with complete or considerable absence of a posterior capsule of lens. Under local anaesthesia, the 11 and 17 o'clock conjunctiva is separated, scleral valves 3x4 mm turned to a limb are cut out. Above one of the scleral flaps, tissues are perforated with a hollow guide needle; a cornea is perforated with a loop suture needle with a needle point placed in a hole of the guide needle; the hollow guide needle is moved back to be exteriorised with the looped suture arranged behind the iris; tissues under the other scleral flap are perforated with the hollow guide needle, and the second looped suture is arranged behind the iris with similar manipulations; a 12 o'clock corneal incision 2.75 mm is made to exteriorise both loops with using tweezers Then a lens is delivered through a injection system cartridge so that to deliver one of the haptic elements out of an eye cavity, then a loop is delivered though a first aperture of this haptic element, and thrown upon its free end with fixing the haptic element in the loop. This haptic element is implanted together with the optics with keeping the second haptic element exteriorised; the second loop is delivered through its aperture and thrown upon its free end with fixing the haptic element in the loop; thereafter the implantation process is completed by implanting the second haptic element and fixing the sutures under the scleral flaps. The sutures are gradually pulled outside; the intraocular lens is centred, sutured through, and the sutures ends are fixed under the scleral flaps. It is followed by conjunctival suture-less diathermocoagulation above incisures.
EFFECT: method ensures reducing tissue injures, providing higher strength and reliability of the IOL fixation in an eye, minimising an IOL rotation risk in a sagittal plane, reducing length of manipulations for suture end fixation to the haptic elements of the IOL, ensuring high functional outcome.
