SUBSTANCE: invention concerns veterinary science. A veterinary pharmaceutical composition for treating gastrointestinal diseases and intoxications of various aetiologies in animals contains in the fact that as active ingredients it contains hydrolytic lignin and prebiotic from a group: lactulose, fructo-oligosaccharides, galactosaccharides, inulin, presented in the form applicable as a part of a mixed fodder, with the lignin content in the amount of 30 to 95 wt %, and in the prebiotic content - 5 to 50 wt %, in the form of powder or granules. A method for preventing and treating intoxications of various aetiologies, including mycotoxicosis, in animals, including birds provides uptake of the specified veterinary pharmaceutical composition as a part of the mixed fodder in dose 2 to 4.5 kg of the specified composition per 1 tonne of the mixed fodder, proportionally with the mycotoxin content in the mixed fodder.

EFFECT: invention provides higher clinical effectiveness, minimised side effect of the sorbent, restored gastrointestinal homeostasis, normalised metabolism values that in turn promotes increasing zootechnical and economic animal production values.
