FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalysts for oxidising hydrogen chloride with oxygen. Described is a catalyst for oxidising hydrogen chloride with oxygen, containing at least one component which is active during catalysis of oxidation reactions, containing at least one element selected from a group consisting of ruthenium, osmium, rhodium, iridium, palladium, platinum, copper, silver, gold, rhenium, bismuth, cobalt, vanadium, chromium, manganese, nickel, tungsten and iron, as well as a support for said catalyst, where the support is based on carbon nanotubes. Described is a method for catalytic oxidation of hydrogen chloride with oxygen, involving use of the catalyst described above.
EFFECT: described catalyst is characterised by high stability and activity.
