SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the purification and neutralization of exhaust and process gases from chlorine and/or hydrogen chloride. According to the invention, a hydrogen chloride absorber from gas mixtures is proposed, consisting of an active component - calcium oxide in an amount of 94-70 wt.% and modifying and pore-forming additives - finely dispersed silicon oxide in an amount of 1-10 wt.%, catalytic fibrous carbon in an amount of 5-20 wt.%, while the catalytic fibrous carbon is a powder of multilayer carbon nanotubes with a three-dimensional openwork structure with a density of less than 100 mg/cm3. The invention also relates to a method for purifying gas mixtures from hydrogen chloride using an absorber.

EFFECT: high sorption capacity of the absorber during operation.
