FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises multi-pass reduction of billet in rolls with gages. Accurate geometry of section and higher efficiency result from section initial forming is executed in gage system "oval - edging oval - oval", while further rolling is performed in five grooved gages with alternating splitting along strip top and bottom edges at approximately equal height deformation factor along strip cross section in the first four grooved gages. Note that final formation of periodic profile is performed in finishing gage with relation between height deformation factor maximum wedge-like bulge and that of deformation on strip edges between bulges making 1.55-1.65.
EFFECT: higher quality of strip sections, primarily, for chisel-shaped shares.
