FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of processing rice husks and producing β-cristobalite involves: sieving, treatment with hot water, treatment with anaerobic bacteria, washing with deionised water, drying at 90-100°C, burning in an oxidative atmosphere at 280-320°C while raising temperature from 100 to 280-320°C at a rate of not more than 2°/min, high-temperature burning at 700-900°C in an oxidative atmosphere.
EFFECT: invention enables to cut total wastes of the processing process, cut the duration of washing with deionised water, cut consumption of deionised water, obtain methane, carbon dioxide gas and powder of nanocrystalline silicon dioxide in a β-cristobalite phase with high purity and whiteness.
