FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves successively holding a biocenosis of microorganisms which remove organic and mineral impurities from waste water in anaerobic, anoxic and aerobic conditions. The following operations are carried out: the rate of return of active sludge from secondary settling tanks and the flow rate of the circular stream of the sludge mixture into a denitrifier from the outlet of a nitrifier is measured; the range of possible rates of removal of excess sludge is divided by a finite number of intervals and in the load on the sludge is calculated in each; graphs of concentration of impurities in the purified water on control ingredients versus the load on the sludge are plotted; the plotted graphs are used to search for the range of the working load on the sludge where the required degree of purification of water on all control ingredients is achieved; biological removal of nitrogen and phosphorus from the waste water in the range of the defined working loads on the sludge is carried out.
EFFECT: improved biological method for purification from nitrogen and phosphorus compounds, high reliability of the purification process, shorter duration of building waste water treatment facilities.
