FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of treating waste water and can be used at small and large-scale treatment facilities of domestic sewage and industrial sewage with similar composition. Waste water is clarified in a primary settling tank 1. The effluent being cleaned is fed into a denitrifier 2, and then passes through an aerobic zone 3 and a nitrifier 4. The sludge mixture is separated in a secondary settling tank 5. Nitrified active sludge is returned to the denitrifier 2 through an outer duct. The recycle rate of active sludge in the outer duct is equal to 130-160% and stays in the secondary settling tank for not less than 15 minutes. The biologically treated waste water is taken for post-treatment.
EFFECT: invention increases the degree of removing nitrogen compounds from waste water to the maximum allowable concentration.
