FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to applied electrochemistry and can be used to produce a liquid oxidant (anolyte), which can be used for disinfection in medicine, agriculture, food industry, sanitation, as well as for boosting effectiveness of various technologies in construction, metallurgy and many other areas of human activity. Treated water is passed along the surface of a positively charged high-voltage electrode, after which it is passed through an ionised gaseous medium, mainly consisting of positively charged ions, where said ionised medium is obtained by igniting discharge on the surface of an organic insulator - polystyrene, lying between said positive high-voltage electrode and an additional electrode.
EFFECT: simple method and apparatus and high efficiency thereof.
