SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pharmaceutical chemistry, specifically to a method for chromatographic purification of the cyclic octreotide peptide D-Phe-Cys-Phe-D-Trp-Lys-Thr-Cys-Thr-OI (I). The invention involves purification using preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), particularly on a VYDAK C18 120A 10 mcm sorbent (manufactured by Grace) using an alcohol-water-acetic acid ternary system as the eluent in the presence of inorganic and (or) organic iodides, for example, such as potassium iodide, ammonium iodide, sodium iodide or tetraalkylaluminium iodide (N'RR'R''R'''I, where R'R'R'',R"' - alkyl C1-C4 or benzyl).
EFFECT: semi-industrial process of purifying crude octreotide.
