FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing oxisided isotactic polypropylene. The method involves oxidation of polypropylene with atmospheric oxygen by bubbling into a reaction mixture. The initial polypropylene used is isotactic polypropylene with molecular weight of 200000-700000, which first expands in an aromatic hydrocarbon selected from benzene homologues in weight ratio of 3:1 to the polypropylene at temperature 140-160°C in the presence of benzaldehyde for 2 hours.
EFFECT: high technological effectiveness of the process, simple method of obtaining oxidised isotactic polypropylene owing to low process temperature and cutting oxidation time.
