FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention specifically relates to production of heteroatomic polypropylene derivatives which can be used as an ingredient of composite materials for road surfaces, roofing materials and materials for anticorrosive coatings. Described is a method of producing oxidised isotactic polypropylene by oxidising polypropylene with atmospheric oxygen by bubbling said atmospheric oxygen into a reaction mass. The starting polypropylene used is isotactic polypropylene with molecular weight of 200000-700000, which first expands in an aromatic hydrocarbon selected from benzene homologues in ratio of 3:1 to the polypropylene at temperature of 140-160°C in the presence of catalytic amounts (0.5-2 wt %) of cumene for 2 hours.
EFFECT: high technological effectiveness of the process, simple method of producing oxidised isotactic polypropylene by reducing the process temperature to 160-140°C and cutting oxidation time to 2 hours.
