FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing oxidised isotactic polypropylene. Method involves oxidation of polypropylene with atmospheric oxygen by bubbling into the reaction mass. Air consumption at bubbling makes 1.0-1.5 l/(min·kg). As initial polypropylene is isotactic polypropylene with molecular weight 200000-700000, which undergoes preliminary partial thermal decomposition in an inert medium at temperature 370-420 °C process is carried out at atmospheric pressure with continuous feed of nitrogen during 120 minutes.
EFFECT: improved technological effectiveness of process, simple method of producing oxidised isotactic polypropylene owing to reducing stiffness of the polymer chain, increasing the number of structural defects in polymer.
