FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises feeding coolant into cooling section onto strip cooled surface. Note here that said coolant consists of substance with phase conversion into has phase at temperature lower than that of cooled strip and approximates to ambient temperature so that energy exchange occurs in limits of endothermic process via phase conversion of said substance, and said coolant may be re-condensed at pressure approximating to atmospheric pressure. Note here that said substance comprises at hydrocarbon, for example, pentane, hexane or heptane. Proposed plant comprises cooling section with cooling chamber for strip to be transferred there through. Said chamber houses nozzles to feed coolant on both surfaces of said strip, evaporator connected downstream of cooling chamber via blower to allow coolant recondensation at atmospheric pressure, cylinder-tank making separator connected downstream of evaporator, and circulation pump connected downstream of said cylinder-tank via safety valve to cooling chamber face wall.
EFFECT: cooling without oxidation.
