FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves placing ground-based artificial irrigation apparatus near a volcanic crater in order to localise volcanic ash through accelerated deposition thereof. Water or aqueous solution of a wetting agent is fed into the cloud of the volcanic emission at its formation stage in form of an artificial fog or by feeding into the zone of an upward air streams using ground-based irrigation apparatus and/or directly into the cloud using aircraft-mounted apparatus.
EFFECT: controlling dust clouds arising from a volcano eruption.
