FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: applied device comprises a control system, a voltage meter, a connecting transformer in the form of a voltage transformer and a compensation unit which includes a variable voltage calculation unit, a comparison element, a delta-modulator and a compensating current source in the form of a four-quadrant converter. The input of the calculation unit in this converter is connected with the second output of the comparison element and is the input of the compensation unit, whereas the output of the compensating current source is the output of the compensation unit. The power unit, consisting of a rectifier transformer, a thyristor balance and an engine where the primary coil is the first input of the power unit, the second input of the thyristor balance is the second input of the power unit, and the output of the engine is grounded.
EFFECT: increase of the electric locomotive's output power due to the decrease in the switching time and the voltage rectifying during minor or major voltage distortions in the electric-traction netware, the time of phase switching is reduced by 15-20%, the capacity factor of the locomotive increases by 2-3%, and the traction engine current increases by 0,3-0,8%.
