SUBSTANCE: proposed reactive power compensator comprises load (1), reactive power source (2), circuit mode pickup (3), synch pulse unit (4), preset current calculator (5), subtractor (6), unit to control four-quadrant converter (7), four-quadrant converter (8), key control device (9), reactive power calculator (16), preset voltage calculator (17), second comparator (18), adjustable voltage source control unit (19), adjustable voltage source (20) and voltage transducer (21). Reactive power source (2) consists of inductor (10), capacitor (11) and key element, all connected in series. Said key element represents two thyristors (12, 13) connected in parallel opposition. Circuit mode pickup (3) comprises voltage transformer (14) and current transformer (15). Thyristor converter makes a load.
EFFECT: increased power factor in all operating conditions.
