FIELD: aeronautics.

SUBSTANCE: marking coating is put on the surface of spacecraft and solar batteries. The coating is made of composition of substances reflection spectrum of which codes technical and legal information on spacecraft. Light reflecting elements are included on the sublayer or as part of composition. The identification of spacecraft or its debris is performed by illuminating the coating with laser light from ground observing station and the information is read using spectrometric means.

EFFECT: increased reliability of identification of spacecrafts and their debris in space.
