SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the space equipment. Spacecraft is protected from collision with an actively approaching object by recording a continuous sequence of signals with an increasing amplitude in the optical spectral range, which makes it possible to determine the spatial orientation of an actively approaching object according to the maximum indications of the amplitude of the detected signals. Device for the protection of a spacecraft consists of a spherical shell with detectors of signal amplitude set on its surface from an actively approaching object. Inside the shell is a retractable protective screen, made in the form of a sliding frame, equipped with low-thrust engines located in the corners of the frame. Outer surface of the frame is covered with a polymeric metallized film.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to prevent collision of a spacecraft with an actively approaching object.
