FIELD: communications.

SUBSTANCE: method includes the determination of the access points set and PilotPN codes set used by access points set. Then the detection is performed in order to find out whether at least two access points out of access points have conflicting PilotPN codes. First PilotPN code is assigned to the one of at least two access points with conflicting PilotPN code. Also, one or more of other PilotPN codes that are different from the first PilotPN code are assigned to the remaining access points out of at least two access points with conflicting PilotPN codes. Also the relevant device and other approximate methods are disclosed.

EFFECT: automatic resolution of PilotPN code conflicts using access point aided by one or more access terminals.
