FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: filter for purifying liquids has a housing with a bottom, a filter element which is coaxially fitted into the housing, an inlet pipe with a lock for mounting the device onto a tap and an outlet pipe. The filter element is a plug-in unit consisting of at least one plate of ceramic, sheet-like tangential filter having a flange and longitudinal channels which are plugged at the end which is opposite the end with the flange. The inner dimension of the housing and the outer dimension of the filter element are in the ratio of 1:0.86-0.96. The housing has a depression at the bottom with formation therein of a cavity for collecting impurities from the liquid being purified. The inlet pipe is parallel to the filter housing and is divided into two cavities, one of which contains decontaminating material, and directs the purified liquid into the housing between plates of the filter element by way of splitter fins at an angle of 0-45° to the longitudinal axis of the filter element. The width of the splitter fin is 0.7-1.1 times the thickness of the plate of the filter element, and the width of the slit between the splitter fins is 0.3-1.5 times the spacing of the plates of the filter element. The liquid being purified enters at a level of 0.1-1.0 times the height of the filter from the bottom.

EFFECT: design of a small filter with high efficiency and long service life, with decontamination of the liquid and prevention of fouling of the filter housing and the filter element by bacteria.
