FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: outer surface of pipeline is pre-cleaned in automatic mode with strips equally located in circumferential direction of the pipeline by covering their ends by means of the device containing at least two head pieces and providing their oscillating motion in transverse direction and continuous motion in longitudinal direction relative to the pipeline. Sputtering of the coating in automatic mode under pressure of not less than 150 MPa is performed with strips uniformly located in circumferential direction of the pipeline by means of the device containing at least two high-pressure spray guns and providing their oscillating motion in transverse direction and continuous motion in longitudinal direction relative to the pipeline.
EFFECT: increase in the productivity of the coating application process on pipelines in route conditions has been performed due to automation and synchronisation of productivity of processes of preparation of outer surface of pipeline and application of the coating to it.
