FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves application of three-layered coating by means of vacuum arc method. At that, as bottom layer at pressure of acetylene in the chamber of 7.5·10-4 Pa and temperature of 600°C there applied is titanium and zirconium carbonitride. As intermediate layer at pressure of acetylene in the chamber of 7.5·10-4 Pa and temperature of 550°C there applied is the above carbonitride alloyed with aluminium. As top layer at pressure of acetylene in the chamber of 4.3·10-3 Pa and temperature of 500°C there applied is titanium and aluminium carbonitride.
EFFECT: increasing operability of cutting tool and improving treatment quality.
