FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: gyroscope has a broadband optical radiation source, an input X-splitter, the first port of which is optically connected with the output of the broadband optical radiation source, and the second port is connected to the input of a first photodetector, an optical integrated circuit with a splitter function, which retains the polarisation state of optical radiation, a phase modulator, the first port of which is optically connected to the third port of the input X-splitter, and a sensitive coil, the ends of the optical fibre of which are connected to the second and third ports of the optical integrated circuit. The optical radiation source is in form of a source of polarised broadband optical radiation, and the input X-splitter retains the polarisation state of optical radiation.

EFFECT: reduced effect of excess noise caused by the optical radiation source on the output information signal of the gyroscope.
