FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method aims at increasing resistance of rolls and comprises feeding the coolant via by set of sequential fan-like jets on the surface of mill rill passes on the stand outlet side. Coolant jets fed on roll pass surface represent Y-shape irrigation spots with oriented diverging section oriented along direction of roll rotation. Specific impact force of every next jet is increased by 20-30% relative to previous one. Said surfaces are dried by gas jets immediately after the last jet of coolant fed 3-7 bar to make impact force equal to 4-14 N. Proposed device comprises nozzle units including, at least, three sprayers arranged along manifold length so that their capacity increases. Note here that they are mounted so that lengthwise axes of their outlets are located radially at 80°-140° to each other. Note also that outlet of one sprayer is located so that its lengthwise axis extends along manifold lengthwise axis while nozzle outlets of the other sprayers are located in symmetry about lengthwise axis of the first nozzle outlet.
EFFECT: uniform and efficient cooling.
