APPARATUS FOR COOLING TUBES IN MULTISTAND ROLLING MILL Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: rolled tube production, namely apparatus for cooling tubes at thermal-mechanical working of them with cooling during deformation process in multi-stand rolling mill.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes arranged along the same axis: housing with branch pipes, distributing member and stem mounted with possibility of lengthwise motion. Housing of apparatus is placed at one side of each deforming stand of mill and stem is arranged at opposite side of each deforming stand of mill. Distributing member is made of elastic material, its one end is rigidly secured to housing for forming by means of its movable end jet opening between housing and distributing member. On inner surface of distributing member forming said jet opening there are tangentially arranged grooves.

EFFECT: possibility for intensive uniform cooling of tubes between stands and in deformation region.
