FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device comprises body, planing blade, front base and planing depth adjustment mechanism. Planing blade is arranged on plane body. Planing blade is secured to blade base to extend beyond front base bottom surface. Front base is jointed with plane body to move vertically relative thereto. Front base is kept in contact with working surface of workpiece to slide thereon to level it by planing blade. Planing depth adjustment mechanism varies front base vertical position relative to plane body. Said mechanism comprises working element, cam and height adjustment section. Said cam rotates together with working element. Height adjustment section interacts with aforesaid cam. Proceeding from cam rise height, said section varies the height of front base relative to plane body. Cam shape represent heart-like contour. Cam curvature keeps invariable cam rise height per unit turn angle cam turned through. Said curvature is set to allow front base to rise by the same shift per every invariable turn angle during half the turn of cam. Front base may be downed by the same amount per every invariable turn angle during remaining half of the cam turn.
EFFECT: simplified adjustment of planing depth.
