FIELD: wood-working industry, in particular, equipment for planing and profiling of wooden parts.

SUBSTANCE: mechanical planing tool has body, cutting head and rear supporting unit. Cutting head has at least two disk cutters mounted on drive shaft. Cutting edges of cutters are arranged in angularly offset relationship. Rear supporting unit is made in the form of at least two skis having supporting surfaces adapted for engagement with material to be worked. Skis are arranged in parallel with longitudinal axis of symmetry of body and are connected with body through detachable joint. Width of ski does not exceed width of cutting tool disk cutter. Longitudinal axis of symmetry of ski is arranged in vertical plane extending through transverse axis of symmetry of disk cutter.

EFFECT: wider range of use, reduced expenditures for readjustment to comply with differently profiled surfaces.
