FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: method includes placement of a pipe onto a location plate, installation of plugs (sealing heads) at its ends, fixation of pipe ends against possible movements, removal of air from the pipe cavity and subsequent supply of pressurising liquid of sample pressure, causing elastic deformation of a pipe outside the plugs, soaking of the pipe under the specified pressure, subsequent removal of water from the pipe cavity and taking verdict of pipe suitability for operation under the specified pressure. Simultaneously with hydraulic tests, mechanical tests are carried out for strength of transition sections from the edge line to the initial section of the pipe. For this purpose the plug is made in the form of a cylindrical sleeve with a collar and an external thread, installation of the sleeve is carried out on the cylindrical surface formed by outer surfaces of a split stencil arranged on the edge line. At the same time between the end of the stencil and the sleeve collar there is a piezosensor, on the sleeve threaded part there is a cover fixed with a seal and a nozzle to organise a hydraulic system, and tension force from action of the pressurising liquid to the inner surface of the pipe is transmitted to stencils causing compression of piezosensors and generation of signals corresponding to mechanical properties of the specified transition sections.

EFFECT: value of these signals relative to the reference signal is used to take verdict on pipe applicability for operation for the specified working pressure of the internal pipe medium.
