FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical and veterinary microbiology and may be applied for the intravenous infection of mice. The method consists in the fact that the introduction of a material is immediately preceded by placing an animal's tail in a container with water heated to 50°C and coated with xylene to enable vascular hyperthermia. Thereafter, a mouth is placed in a steriliser box with a hole in its wall wherein the tail is pushed through and clamped from the outside with a straight packer ended by rubber tubes. After the vessels are swelled, a needle of a disposable insulin syringe is introduced at an acute angle almost parallel to a tail axis, while a tail tip is fixed with a surgical forceps; thereafter the packer is removed and a material 0.5 ml is intravenously injected with the disposable insulin syringe being at an acute angle with a needle hole outside.
EFFECT: method provides reliable fixation of the animal, reduced time for the fixation and infection of the mice in 2 and more times, prevented injuries in personnel and animals, as well as eliminated infection of the personnel with the infection material in the intravenous infection.
