FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method is implemented by introduction to pre-heated water solution of lithium hydroxide of silicic acid containing 65-80 wt % of silicon dioxide, with further mixing of reaction mixture at increased temperature and filtration cleaning of reaction product; at that to 5.5-9.7% water solution of lithium hydroxide pre-heated to 35-45°C there added at constant temperature increase of reaction mixture with velocity of 1-3°C/min and at mixing is powder-like silicic acid with velocity of 6.0-22.0 g/min; after that, reaction mixture is mixed at temperature of 60-80°C till complete solution of silicic acid and solution is filtered at 50-80°C under negative pressure of 0.2-0.5 atm.
EFFECT: coatings obtained on the basis of such lithium glass have increased adhesion to substrates, as well as increased durability, crack resistance and resistance to factors of space environment.
