SUBSTANCE: apparatus, meant to perform wireless communication with at least one node in a ZigBee wireless network, is configured to: detect a connection problem; analyse local conditions based on scanning, where the volume of clutter noise on all channels is determined; generate a network environment status message, obtained by analysing local conditions, wherein said network environment status message indicates the most favourable channel for communication; and broadcast the network environment status message.
EFFECT: assisting both one's self and the network to find a suitable alternative channel.
