FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: functions of ports, connecting the routers in wireless networks, in the ZigBee networks perform time slots during which communication is performed between the routers of the network. Time slots of the ZigBee superframe structure seem to function as the ports through which the communication between the routers in the ZigBee network is carried out. Before transmitting the beacon, a superframe is formed in the output buffer of each router in the form of a set of memory cells. In each of the cells, to which the slots, corresponding to the routers, are assigned, packets, received from the routers for subsequent transmission, are received. Each router, irrespectively of the others, periodically based on the timer signal broadcasts superframes, limited by beacons. All neighbouring routers, that received the initial beacon, trigger synchronization mechanisms that generate a sequence of time slots and perform a sequential (per each slot) reception of all the packets contained in the corresponding cell. During those slots in which there is no information, transmission does not occur, and only synchronization mechanisms are implemented, during which a small amount of energy is used in comparison with the transmission mode.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of routing with two-address packets containing the address of the initial sender and the final recipient.
