SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for multipurpose utilisation of isobutane in the production of isoprene and butyl rubber, involving a step for producing isobutylene by dehydrating isobutane to form an isobutane-isobutylene fraction containing 45-46 wt % isobutylene, which is fed in a single stream for producing isoprene through DMD synthesis, with extraction of the return isobutane fraction containing 15-20 wt % isobutylene, and in another stream for hydrating isobutylene to trimethyl carbinol for production of butyl rubber with extraction of the return isobutane fraction containing 2.5-4.0 wt % isobutylene, characterised by that the return isobutane fraction from production of dimethyl dioxane containing 15-20 wt % isobutylene is purified from high-boiling point hydrocarbons through fractionation and is completely or partially fed together with the isobutane-isobutylene fraction for hydration of isobutylene to trimethyl carbinol for production of butyl rubber, and the extracted return isobutane fraction containing 1.5-2.5 wt % isobutylene is returned for dehydration together with the "direct" isobutane.
EFFECT: use of the present method increases isobutylene output during the dehydration step and reduces power consumption.
