SUBSTANCE: invention concerns improved method of obtaining 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane by condensation of isobutylene containing fraction with water solution of formaldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst and surfactants at high temperature and pressure, and further extraction of 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane from the reacting mass.
EFFECT: increased conversion of the source reagents and 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane output due to reduced generation of high-boiling by-products.
