FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and may be used in lithium production at vacuum shaft electric resistance kiln on combining processes of synthesis-reduction-condensation. Initial charge is pelletised at the following ratio of components, in wt %: lithium hydroxyaluminate - 45-50, lithium carbonate - 20-25, aluminium powder making the rest. Obtained cakes are loaded into reaction chamber of shaft electric kiln. Vacuum is created in said kiln. Cakes are uniformly heated to temperature of lithium aluminate synthesis from hyroxyaluminate and carbonate. Then said cakes are held at said temperature to synthesis termination. Thereafter, synthesized mix is heated to metallic lithium reduction temperature and cured at said temperature to termination of reduction to obtain condensate. The latter is cooled to room temperature and withdrawn from the kiln.
EFFECT: lower power consumption, shorter process, no use of high-priced inert gas.
