FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to gas thermal application of coatings, and namely laser-plasma spraying, and can be used for surface treatment of parts in machine-building industry, including specific one, aircraft engineering, rocket and missile engineering and power engineering. According to the method the plasma flow directed to the coated surface is created with plasmotron, particles of sprayed powder are supplied to it, and modulated laser radiation is supplied to plasmotron nozzle outlet perpendicular to plasma flow and focused on side of plasma flow, which is opposite to laser radiation source. At that, laser radiation is supplied prior to supply of particles of sprayed powder and with intensity which is not less than threshold one, at which optical breakdown occurs. Essence of the method consists in the following.
EFFECT: increasing strength of coating adhesion to substrate.
